Hi guys!

We had our first Anime Club meeting of the year today, and, despite some minor technical difficulties, it went really well! We are lucky enough to have our lovely moderator, Mrs. Boucher, who is an anime lover herself and is very patient with us (one must be if they are to properly handle the wild otakus) with us this year! We missed a few of our members from last year at the meeting today, but I know that not everyone can make it to all of the meetings, so that's okay. Remember, never hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. My mailbox is always open! ( ' ▽ ' )ノ

ALSO, we had not one, but TWO NEW MEMBERS join us today!!! I'm so excited!!! I'm not gonna call them out, but let me just tell you that this is going to be a seriously great year, I promise.

Today, we watched the first episode of Princess Jellyfish (Kuragehime) and everyone LOVED IT, so we may be watching it during future meetings. ꒰’౪’꒱✧ I'm still deciding what I want to do with the "Animes" page on the website, as it would be a LOT of work to make pages for every single anime I've ever watched, so I think what I'll do is just add animes to that page as we watch them. Sound good?

In addition, if you would like to use my VRV account to watch anime on, please just ASK ME. Really, I don't bite! TALK TO MEEEEEEEEE.

Note: the blue text is a link.

So, today we discussed some of our plans for the year, which include, but are certainly not limited to:

  • Studio Ghibli Fest: Studio Ghibli, arguably THE GREATEST anime movie studio of all time, is showing some of its biggest hits IN THEATERS every month. A few of them have already passed, and I have managed to make it to all but one of them. There are three more left: Nausicaa, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle, all of which are AMAZING, seriously. The next one is Nausicaa, which plays on September 24, 25, and 27. We would like to attend a showing for each of these movies together as a club, but it's okay if you can't make it when we go and you want to go on one of the other days. Also, the showings on the 24th and 27th are English dubbed, while the one on the 25th is English subbed with the original Japanese audio. I have seen the movies in both formats and they are both awesome. Here's a link to the page about this event: http://bit.ly/2ovba0M.

  • Comic Cons: Obviously, the Anime Club will be attending some Comic Cons. C'mon, what else would we do with our free time? The next one is the Rhode Island Comic Con, which runs from Friday the 10th to Sunday the 12th. Tickets for Saturday, the day we'll most likely go, are $40. The Anime Club may purchase these as a group, but we will discuss this at the next meeting, so stay tuned. For the next meeting, just make sure you'll be free on Saturday, November 11th. The Con starts at 10 A.M., and we'll probably carpool there. If you'd be interested in carpooling or you're having trouble finding a ride, please mention it at the next meeting or contact me--we'll figure it out, don't worry! (・`◡´・)ゝ [I gotchu fam.]

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for animes we could watch? Please tell me! I'm always looking for ideas and feedback from you guys! Remember, though, it has to be SHAppropriate: no nudity, no gore, no swearing. If you're questioning whether or not we'd be able to watch it in club, just ask me. I'm very chill, so don't worry about weirding me out with your anime choices (hey, I won't judge your life if you don't judge mine).

Well, that was quite a long post and I have actual homework to get to, so bye bye for now!
